This year he demonstrated his versatility on the field, lining up at whatever position was needed night after night. From playing defender to midfielder to forward, Longoria did it all for the Raiders.
The Raiders’ defense continued to be one of the best in the Valley this season thanks to Longoria, allowing just 13 goals in 18 district games. Its 0.7 goals allowed per game marked a third straight year it has allowed less than one goal per contest.
Offensively, the Raiders proved to be a juggernaut this year, averaging 2.9 per game. Once again, Longoria was at the forefront of it, netting a team-high 14 goals in 18 district matches.
The Raiders finished fourth in a tough District 32-5A, going 11-3-4 in league play. They added a pair of postseason wins against McAllen Memorial (2-1 PKs), and Corpus Christi Flour Bluff (3-0) before falling to Region IV-5A DI finalist San Antonio Southwest.
