Players to watch: DB Jose Medellin (5-7, 165, 4.6), DB Miguel Govea (507, 175, 4.7), QB Jesus Hinojosa (6-2, 185, 4.9), WR Roman Vera (6-2, 160, 4.9), DE Daniel Villanueva (5-11, 200, 4.7). Top juniors: OL Jacob Lopez (6-1, 250, 5.0), LB Ezequiel Gutierrez (5-8, 170, 4.8). Top sophomore: RB Gabriel Gonzalez (6-0, 180, 4.8).
Other prospects: CB Humberto Ramos, WR Perfecto Cruz, DL/TE Angel Garcia, WR Luis Reveles, RB Edgar Rocha.

2023 notes: Leal's Raiders ran into a rough ride last season, but he is confident his team's returners should be able to give the group a boost. QB Hinojosa (516 yards, 3 TDs) and RB Rocha (507 yards, 2 TDs) will hope to put more offensive output for the team that competes in a strong district. Like other schools in the city, participation can be a hurdle but there is no doubt that Rivera players fight hard and could steal a victory or two over the course of a season. The senior-laden team should have no issues with experience.
