(Brownsville, Texas)-At Sams Stadium, Brownsville Rivera picked up its first win of the season by defeating La Joya 27-14 in non-conference action on Thursday night. The Raiders will travel to play Edinburg North next Thursday night at Richard R. Flores Stadium. Head coach Beto Leal was pleased with his team’s performance on Thursday night. “I’m proud of our team and our staff,” said Leal. The win for the Raiders snaps a five-game losing streak dating back to September 22 when they defeated Economedes in non-conference action. Rivera will play in District 15-5A Division I in 2024.
